Noralia ยท Guide

Is Noralia an AI chatbot?

In short

No. Ask Noralia is not a generative AI and has no open text box. You pick a topic, and it answers from a set of written replies, shaped by what you have logged. That is a deliberate choice, and it has limits worth knowing about.

The short version

People search for an "AI companion for health questions" and expect a chat window where they type anything. Ask Noralia does not work like that. There is no large language model behind it, and you cannot type a free question into it.

You start from a small set of entry points: how you are feeling, something you have noticed, your period, something that happened, something you need. Each turn after that is a choice between a few options. The replies are written by people, and which one you see depends on your own entries: sleep, mood, where you are in your cycle.

Why it was built this way

Three reasons, in order of importance.

What it does well

It names the hard thing first instead of firing off tips. It offers one small next step rather than a list. It uses your own entries, so "Why am I so tired?" is answered from your sleep and your cycle phase, not from a general article. And when something deserves a professional, it says so plainly.

If you want to see the reasoning behind that last part, read how Ask Noralia learns when comfort is not the right answer.

Where it stops

If an assistant that writes new answers every time is what you are after, that is a different product, and a fair thing to want. What Noralia offers instead is a conversation that stays on your phone and that you can predict.
