Medication reminders that ring on silent.

Most reminder apps go quiet the moment your phone does. Medifix fires like an alarm clock — through silent mode, through Do Not Disturb, on any Android phone or iPhone. Free, no account, and your data never leaves the device.

Why reminders fail exactly when they matter

A missed dose is rarely forgetfulness. It is usually a phone doing what it was told — staying quiet. Medifix is built around that one failure.

What normally happens
  • Your phone is on silent for a meeting, and the notification arrives without a sound.
  • Do Not Disturb runs overnight, so the evening and morning doses pass unnoticed.
  • Aggressive battery savers on Xiaomi, Huawei or Samsung quietly kill the app in the background.
  • The reminder is a banner that disappears the moment you swipe it away by reflex.
What Medifix does instead
  • Reminders use exact alarms and critical alerts, so they sound through silent and Do Not Disturb.
  • Scheduling survives reboots, battery optimisation and force-stops.
  • A dose stays open until you actually confirm it, rather than vanishing on a swipe.
  • Everything runs on-device, so a bad signal never delays a reminder.

Three taps to set up, then it stays out of your way

Medifix is deliberately small. There is no onboarding funnel, no account wall, and nothing to configure before your first reminder works.

Everything you need to never miss a dose

Built for people who take medication every day and need reminders they can actually rely on.

It rings when your phone is muted
On Android, Medifix schedules exact alarms through AlarmManager, the same mechanism your alarm clock uses. On iOS it uses critical alerts, an entitlement Apple grants case by case and approved for Medifix in July 2026. The practical result is the same on both: a muted phone does not mute your medication.
Data stays on your device
Everything lives in a local AES-256 encrypted database. No cloud backup exists at all — that was a deliberate decision, not a missing feature.
No account required
No registration, no email, no password. Install it and your first reminder can be set within a minute, fully offline.
Interaction & allergy hints
Free hints from public FDA data flag possible interactions as you add a medication, and your allergy profile flags anything you react to. Informational only — it does not replace medical advice.
Schedules that fit real life
Fixed times, specific weekdays, every N hours, or one-off doses — multi-medication routines stay readable.
Caregiver sharing
Let a family member or carer follow the schedule and intake log, end-to-end encrypted so only the people you pick can read it.
History and adherence you can show a doctor
A calendar view and adherence charts turn months of intake into something you can actually discuss at an appointment, rather than reconstructing it from memory.
Biometric app lock
Face ID or fingerprint on open, so your medication list stays private if someone else picks up your phone.

Backup

Your data is
yours.

Medifix stores everything locally in an encrypted database on your device. No medication data is ever sent to Mintlane or any third party.

There is no cloud backup — not as an upsell, not as an option. Backups are encrypted files written to a folder on your own phone, unlocked with a PIN you choose. If you want a copy somewhere else, you move it there yourself.

The permissions Medifix asks for: notifications (for reminders), battery optimisation exemption (so the OS cannot silence them), and optionally biometrics (for app lock). That is the whole list.

Frequently asked questions

For deeper dives into specific topics, see the Medifix guides.

Is Medifix free?
Yes. Medifix is completely free to download and use at its core. There are no ads, no subscription required for essential features, and no hidden costs.
Does Medifix work when my phone is on silent or Do Not Disturb?
Yes — this is Medifix's core feature. On Android, it uses AlarmManager exact alarms that bypass silent mode and Do Not Disturb. On iOS, it uses critical alerts, which also ring through silent mode with Apple's permission. Your reminders fire like an alarm clock regardless of your phone's sound setting. Read more: Medication reminders that work on silent mode.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No. Medifix works completely offline from the moment you install it. There is no registration, no email address, no password. Just install and go.
Where is my medication data stored? Is it private?
All data is stored locally on your device in an SQLCipher-encrypted database (AES-256). There is no cloud backup at all — that was a deliberate decision. Backups are encrypted files written to a folder on your own phone and unlocked with a PIN you choose; if you want a copy somewhere else, you move it there yourself. Nothing is sent to Mintlane or any third-party server unless you explicitly enable caregiver sharing, which is end-to-end encrypted.
Is Medifix available on Google Play and the App Store?
Yes, on both — download it here. Get it directly from Google Play on Android or the App Store on iOS.
What devices and OS versions does Medifix support?
Medifix supports Android 5.0 (Lollipop) and above, and iOS 14 and above. It's built with Flutter so it runs natively on both platforms with the same feature set.
Is there a caregiver or family sharing feature?
Yes. Caregiver sharing lets you share your medication schedule with a trusted person — a family member or carer — with end-to-end encryption so only the people you choose can see the data.
Does Medifix warn me about drug interactions or allergies?
Yes. Medifix gives free drug interaction hints based on public FDA data when you add a medication, and lets you keep an allergy profile that flags medications you react to. These hints are for information only and do not replace professional medical advice.
What languages does Medifix support?
Medifix is fully localised in 9 languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Dutch, and Polish.
